It’s an exciting time to work for the Environment Agency and we are looking for two team members who are willing to learn, to join our Asset Performance Team in Suffolk.

We have two roles which are:

Projects Team Member – you will be involved with the development and delivery of Flood Risk Management projects. Working closely with an Advisor, you will develop scopes and undertake Client’s duties on projects to help fix and maintain our assets.

Health, Safety and Incident Response Team Member – you will be responsible for managing our assets from a health and safety point-of-view. You will input and manage the team’s incident response paperwork – devising plans, managing data and ensuring assets have contingency plans.

Your work will be varied, and you'll be given responsibility to achieve results.

You'll be based at an EA office which will be agreed with the successful candidates. However, we are adopting new ways of working which allows some flexibility to work from home.

The Environment Agency take part in incident response. You’ll be encouraged to get involved and support depending on your role and circumstances. Full training will be provided.

Asset Performance is part of the Operations team, undertaking asset management and incident response.

The team is responsible for maintaining flood risk management assets in Suffolk at their target condition, making sure our assets are operating, fit for purpose and safe. We inspect assets, record their condition and plan repairs and refurbishment. We plan channel maintenance, create, replace and decommission assets, engage and work with others, and manage asset information.
Essential:
- Desire to learn. You will be willing to undertake specialist/or further training when necessary.
- Works well in teams but can also work independently and take responsibility for own workload.
- Motivated and proactive. We are looking for people with a can-do attitude who can make decisions.
- Good communications skills. We work with many internal and external stakeholders, therefore, communications skills are key.
- A full UK driving licence is essential.

It would be helpful, but not essential, if you had:
- Experience with flood risk management assets.
- Project management experience.
- Health and safety knowledge.
But these can all be taught on the job, so please still consider applying if you do not have the above.
