To be part of a National team working as an investigator assisting in the investigation of Major investigations. Working in close liaison with the Major Investigation Room currently at Solihull (Moving to Birmingham City Centre - Spring 2020). Carrying out delegated actions in a timely and efficient manner as directed by the MIR. Working with National and Area colleagues. To advise and support other teams functions as and when necessary on enforcement issues specific to those teams. Produce required documentation and reports to agreed quality standards to support operational work, management decisions, public enquiries, court appeals etc, so that information, evidence and Environment Agency interests are accurately and effectively presented. Develop and maintain a strong customer focus to ensure effective relationship building and partnership working to achieve environmental goals. Encourage and develop a safety conscious culture within the team to deliver work programmes without risk to the health and safety of the team or any other individual.

We are looking for someone that is ideally located in the Midlands area who can work from our Solihull office regularly (Birmingham Spring 2020), However, we will consider other locations, where national travel will then be expected.
National Investigations Team is part of National Enforcement Services. The team is made up of Investigators and Financial Investigators supporting area Serious and Major Investigations.
Demonstrate practical experience of working in an intelligence led enforcement field and active involvement in criminal investigations.
Experienced in evidence gathering, statement writing, interviewing of suspects/witnesses, completion of case files, and familiarity with the court system.
Demonstrate a good working knowledge of investigative legislation, including the PACE, CIPA and Code of Practice, RIPA 2000, DPA, and Proceeds of Crime Act. Ability to follow corporate procedures and using computer packages including storing information in accordance with the Government Protective Marking Scheme, use of the Confidential source register, MEMEX or similar, and familiarity with the principles of the Enforcement and Sanctions statement. Able to proactively establish good working relationships with colleagues and internal and external partners. Proven ability to complete tasks accurately and with minimum supervision, either working individually or as part of a team.
