We are looking for an exceptional market researcher to help us meet the challenge of putting effective research and insights at the heart of how we deliver environmental outcomes.

This is an exciting position with the opportunity to make a real difference across a variety of important environmental issues including flood risk management, waste and water resources, as well as employee engagement. You will play a critical role in the team, advising on and managing a broad range of market research across the business.

Key tasks during the assignment include:

- Act as a first point of contact for any questions from the business on market research and insights, providing colleagues with professional advice and guidance.
- Design and deliver market research, working with suppliers or using our in-house survey tool across various programmes of work including Flood, Employee, Water Resources, Waste and others.
- Deliver clear recommendations from market research and insights that help us achieve results in our corporate plan, encouraging the business to act on the results as appropriate.
The Market Research team is part of Government & Engagement in the Chief Executive’s Directorate. We work across all aspects of the organisation and carry out market research with our customers, the communities we work with, our stakeholders and our staff.
Ideally you will have a relevant degree or equivalent qualification or experience for the role and you will have experience of using the range of market research tools and techniques.

You will have experience of working across a number of projects and be able to independently manage your workload to deliver a challenging programme of work to a high standard.

You will be focused on delivering results from research that really help to shape what we do and how we work with others.

You will need the ability to work effectively with people across the business, influencing and persuading others (often remotely).
Although you can chose your base location from any of our main offices (subject to Facilities approval) the role will require some travel and occasional overnight stays. The Market Research team is dispersed across England and our regular face-to-face team meetings are held in our Reading office.
We will consider applications for job share.

Interviews will be held in Reading at the end of September / beginning of October.
