You will be working as a part of a dispersed team of team of systems advisers and programme officers.

We have two permanent roles available. Both roles will be leading on the technical delivery of the Environment Agency's monitoring programmes, working closely with other teams in National Monitoring representing National Monitoring Field Teams. One role be working on our existing monitoring programmes ensuring their smooth delivery and maintenance. The other role will be taking a lead for us in the scheduling and programming of the Natural Capital Ecological Assessment Programme which will be implemented over the next few years.

We are also in the process of upgrading our scheduling software (Click) and you will be instrumental in this by working with the monitoring community, Defra and external partners.

In both roles you will be required to ensure RouteLIMS is as accurate as possible, support our other systems with embedding Salesforce, develop other team members and take a lead on training in the team.
We are part of the National Monitoring Field Team. Which consist of 15 Field Team and us the Field Team Technical Services Team (FTTS). We carry out the majority of the Environment Agency’s routine environmental monitoring.

FTTS are responsible for the scheduling of these monitoring activities, we are the lead business user for RouteLIMS, MSIS and are currently migrating our scheduling software from Click to Salesforce
Essential criteria for the role are:
Proficient in MS office especially Excel and Access.
Awareness of environmental monitoring techniques
Confident communicator, able to get detailed information across to a less technical audience
Happy to embrace change and challenge

Desirable criteria for the role are:
Ability to write a query in SQL
Click/Salesforce experience
Knowledge of EA systems (RouteLIMS, MSIS, WIMS/Midas and Biosys)
The base location for this role can be anywhere but our main hub is in Sheffield. You will also occasionally be required to travel to meetings around the country.
