As part of a small team of Geomatics Analysts you will help develop Remote Sensing Products from a variety of different data sources including Satellite (SAR/Optical), Airborne (LIDAR/Optical/Hyperspectral), and Drone platforms.

The ideally suited candidate will be an organized and skilled everyday user of GIS and remotely sensed data with a strong background in operational remote sensing, preferably educated to Masters Level.

You will feel comfortable working with a range of automated object and pixel oriented classification algorithms. Ideally you will have some knowledge of habitat/ecology, especially in the intertidal zone. Knowledge of python or other relevant coding languages would also be advantageous.

This is a fixed term post until 31st Dec 2019 based in Bath. This is a full-time role, however, we also welcome applications for those requiring part time and flexible career opportunities, so please include any information regarding your preferred working arrangements on your application.
Geomatics is a specialised team within the Environment Agency's National Monitoring department. Its remit is to deliver Geomatics services to the Environment Agency and the wider environmental community.

We are focused on delivering the highest quality data and providing a fully integrated approach to the delivery of geo-information. Combining cutting edge technology with expert personnel, we work to the highest scientific to provide accurate and high quality GIS ready products.
You'll have a good degree in Geography, GIS or another relevant scientific discipline.

You will be able to demonstrate strong and broad ranging GIS skills using a range of ESRI products, preferably including ArcGIS Online/Enterprise with evidence of delivering products to a high standard and timescales.

You'll be able to demonstrate good analysis skills with remote sensing data.

You will ideally have evidence of programming skills and a strong desire to develop GIS products using Python & C++

Very strong organisational skills, highly motivated with a professional attitude and ability to communicate effectively with customers and stakeholders.
