We are looking for an individual with strong leadership skills who can inspire, develop and support individuals in our sustainable places team and build strong relationships with our external partners to drive forward our area priorities.
You'll be leading on issues relating to planning and local government that contribute to cross cutting outcomes for the area and helping to shape better local environments that enhance people's lives and support a sustainable economy in the communities of the West Midlands.
The role of the team is to work with and support other area teams working in partnership with local authorities and local communities to deliver:
•Better local environments that enhance people's lives and support a sustainable economy.
•New and existing developments that have a reduced environmental impact and well planned environmental infrastructure.
•Spatial and economic planning that meets environmental standards and objectives, and addresses climate change, to improve the quality of places for people.
The ideal candidate will have all or a majority of the following skills:
• Highly motivated self-starter with good interpersonal and communication skills
• Effective in leading people, with strong motivational skills.
• Fosters and drives an environment of continuous improvement
• Good understanding of Health & Safety legislation and practices
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and deliver to tight timescales
• Good judgment, problem solving and decision making skills
• An understanding of budgets and statistics with the ability to understand technical issues
