As an officer in the Data and Information team, you will be supporting the essential regulatory work of the National Reservoir Safety team. You will be working to improve the confidence we have in our data, ensuring it is accurate, complete and up to date.

Your role will include running reports and analysing trends where required, contributing to written reports supported by technical experts for internal and external publication, and leading change on improving the data collection and reporting for RST.

This will involve liaison with internal and external stakeholders, communicating with partners to improve our relationships with reservoir undertakers, civil engineers, and professional partners such as Defra. We are looking for someone willing to bring their own ideas to improve communication channels and stakeholder engagement.

The role will involve working across the Reservoir Safety Team, alongside compliance and monitoring officers, technical specialists, and enforcement officers. This will give a varied workload with the opportunity to support a wide range of tasks. In time, you will be expected to offer internal training to inexperienced users of our software and ways of working, offering excellent development opportunities.
We are looking for someone to join our dynamic, growing team which is at the forefront of international reservoir safety regulation. You will be joining a national team of reservoir specialists and officers who monitor and enforce the safety of over 2000 reservoirs in England that have a capacity of over 25,000m3, under the Reservoirs Act 1975.
Essential experience/skills required :
Data management skills, data analysis, data storage and standards with an excellent grasp of Microsoft Excel.
Excellent written and verbal communication to manage relationships and successful liaison with internal and/or external stakeholders
Delivery of work by planning, tracking, gathering and maintaining data/information
Good organisational skills and an ability to align your priorities with the team priorities
Willingness to work independently, remotely without direction but to be a team player. A proactive nature and desire to grow, learn and develop

Desirable but not essential:
Knowledge of the Reservoirs Act 1975
Database software experience
GIS knowledge

The team is a national team with colleagues and partners across the country. Infrequent travel with occasional overnight stays may be necessary but remote working is the norm. There is the opportunity to undertake incident response roles within this team.
