The team is at the centre of Asset Management, ensuring that the Technical Authority (TA) has the right skills and standards. It is part of the Standards, Asset Management & Engineering Department within the Flood & Coastal Risk Management (FCRM) Directorate. You will be an important part of the team supporting the delivery of the Asset Management Technical Authority (AM TA) service. You will enable the AM TA Office to manage the development, implementation and review of engineering and asset management standards. In particular, you will:

•manage and maintain lists of capable, qualified staff,
•administer the AM TA Office internal processes.

You will also:

•support the managers and team across ongoing AM TA Office tasks that need to be developed, such as engagement with practitioners and reporting,
•provide team administration support to leadership and wider team meetings, including managing action logs,
•provide secretariat support to internal Boards and groups such as the National Engineering and Innovation Panel,
•manage record handling and processing data, setting up new project workspaces, managing and assuring access requests,
•help to manage the AM TA SharePoint site, such as content creation, updates, setting up and managing workspaces and creating news items,
•help with logging and co-ordination of responses to AM TA Office enquiries.

Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be asked to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training will be available to support you with your incident role.
The AMTA Office is a small friendly team. We work flexibly, undertaking varied work. We support the TA to provide the organisational infrastructure, resources, and operational framework to carry out its responsibilities effectively. Acting as the administrative and operational backbone of the TA, ensuring that its standards, decisions, and oversight processes are implemented across the organisation.

The team is managed by two part-time Managers. The post will be managed by one and supervised by both.
We are looking for a candidate with a range of skills:

• you will need good organisational skills including self-management, tracking workload and prioritising tasks,
• you will have good attention to detail, able to develop and maintain information and records,
• you will be able to collate and maintain accurate information. Digitising and automation skills are desirable,
• you will have good communication skills. You must be able to engage with a range of people, including senior staff,
• you must be able to work as part of a dispersed team,
• A Levels (or equivalent) are desirable,
• knowledge of asset management and/or engineering is desirable.

Other advantageous skills include:

• confidence in using IT Systems and MS Office,
• experience of managing SharePoint sites and information in a variety of MS office formats.
The post is in a dispersed team. You’ll have an EA Office base location as a national role. The working location is flexible / hybrid.

Occasional travel is expected (usually no more than twice a month), predominately in London, Birmingham or Bristol.
