We are seeking an enthusiastic and driven individual who is passionate about making a difference.
You will:
• lead, motivate, and coordinate the project team to ensure outstanding projects are delivered to time, cost, and quality.
• be the main project manager on a range of medium risk projects and be a supporting project manager on our highest risk projects in the West Midlands.
• deliver the exciting projects right from initial strategic planning through to implementation, construction and delivery.
• have customer service at the heart of everything you do- your role is reliant on excellent working relationships in the project team, wider business, and the communities we serve.

Our National Capital Programme Management Service (ncpms) is responsible for delivering the majority of our important projects, mainly but not exclusively in the area of flood defence; from multimillion-pound programmes to ground-breaking, award-winning projects.
Your local ncpms team includes 50-60 dedicated and passionate colleagues within a supportive environment with a clear sense of purpose. Your project teams include internal and external individuals and organisations working across the country.

• Experience as an inspirational leader with exceptional communication and people skills. You will have led dispersed teams, motivated people to achieve more than they thought possible, and you will have solid experience of delivering fantastic results through and with others.
• Proven successes by building and coordinating excellent working relationships with internal and external partners.
• Strong experience in project and programme management. You will have delivered outstanding projects to time, quality, and budget, within a challenging climate, and which benefited people, wildlife and the environment. Throughout this you’ll have role modelled high standards of health and safety.
• Proven successes coping under pressure and with change.
• Able to innovate and improve practices and procedures.
• PRINCE2 Practitioner status or equivalent, or be working towards it.

Contract and construction project management is desirable, but not essential.

We have a strong incident management culture. The post holder will be given training and be expected to have an active incident management role.
A driving licence is required. A lease car is available where there is a clear business need. The base location is either Shrewsbury, Tewkesbury, Lichfield or Solihull, and regular travel across the West Midlands is expected. There will occasionally be travel required nationally with overnight stays.
