We are looking for exceptional project managers who are passionate about the environment, wildlife and communities to join us for an exciting role delivering projects across the West Midlands that help reduce flood risk.
The successful candidates will be pivotal for the delivery of specific flood defence projects and overall 6 year FCERM capital programme, working with partners and teams within the Environment Agency to challenging deadlines.
You'll lead others on policies, procedures and techniques enabling them to perform effectively and efficiently. You will engage with our customers and partners to provide great service whilst integrating and realising efficiencies throughout delivery of the programme.
The roles are varied and draw upon a diverse range of transferrable skills. Working closely with other teams, you can expect to be involved in the following:
• Working with multi project teams to ensure outcomes are delivered to time and budget
• Developing a pipeline of projects to bolster and strengthen both the existing and future programmes
• Whole life Asset Management (including Mechanical, Civil, Maintenance & Operational)
• Tracking project expenditure and performance
• Working with external partners and customers to build positive relationships and realise mutual outcomes
Our people are based at offices across the West Midlands We work flexibly and adapt to fit in with the project teams we support. You will join a team of experts in all areas of flood risk.
Our work is challenging but is also very rewarding. We take pride in serving communities across the West Midlands, our Area is incredibly diverse, covering rural counties and large urban centres.
We are looking for candidates who are preferably degree qualified in an Engineering or Environmental discipline or hold equivalent experience, ideally with strong project/programme management background. You will need to demonstrate ability in the following areas:
• Strong organisational and interpersonal skills and a proven ability to communicate and influence at all levels
• Sound knowledge of project and programme management
• GIS and data analysis skills would be advantageous
• Practical approach to problem solving
• Proactive approach and fresh perspective will ensure you’re always looking towards continuous improvement
• A proven record of working with customers and delivering on time is essential
