We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and driven individual for this exciting and challenging secretary role.

You'll carry out a range of secretarial duties in support of our area management team, including email and diary management, organising meetings, tracking and collating information, and travel arrangements for the Area Management Team.

Your excellent organisational skills will be critical to the smooth running of our organisation. You will be drafting and preparing documents, sharing information with different teams across the area, as well as working with national colleagues and external partners to facilitate local meetings and VIP visits to the area.
Working within the Customers & Engagement team, the Management Support Team is a small group of secretaries that support the area management team and work closely with the area manager’s personal assistant. Team work, flexibility, and a positive attitude are essential.
Good verbal and written communication skills are essential to this role. You will be proactive and able to pre-empt the needs of the management team. You’ll possess the ability to work unsupervised, manage your own workload and meet tight deadlines.

Other key requirements for this job include proficiency in IT applications including outlook, word and excel, along with good organisation and communication skills, as well as a positive customer focus.

Some adhoc travel to other offices within the area may be required from time to time.

The Environment Agency is committed to developing our people. Depending on your current level of qualification, and personal preference, you may wish to undertake a workplace apprenticeship to complement your role. This will provide job specific training via an accredited qualification framework, leading to a nationally recognised qualification.
