The post is in the EU Exit Chemicals Programme, but a background in chemicals is not needed for this role.
The Chemicals Programme is developing the Environment Agency’s future approach to protecting the environment from chemical manufacture, use & disposal.

You will provide support to the Programme Delivery Team and wider Programme including, for example:
• arranging face to face, telephone and online meetings, and workshops
• drafting agendas, taking and writing up meeting notes
• providing routine administration of our file sharing and collaboration tool
• managing the Programme email inbox
• creating and updating management and communication materials such as presentations, structure charts, process flow diagrams and spreadsheets
• procurement (including purchase orders and invoicing)
• records management
• supporting project managers, helping to develop and maintain project documents and systems
• being a central point of contact for the team
You will be part of the Programme Delivery Team, a welcoming and motivated team managing and supporting the national Chemicals Programme. The team is working with others to develop our future approach to protecting the environment from chemical manufacture, use & disposal.
You will:
• have at least 1 years' experience in a project support or similar role where you have provided the type of work listed above
• be a motivated self-starter, with a can-do approach
• be highly organised with good attention to detail
• be used to working on your own initiative but also an adaptable team player
• be able to balance multiple pieces of work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
• be flexible and able to positively respond to changing circumstances, as this is an emerging and uncertain area of work
• be able to communicate clearly using appropriate styles and methods to maximise understanding and impact
• be proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Proficiency in using Microsoft Visio, MS Project and SharePoint would be useful, but not essential
The post is located in Bristol. You will be expected to travel regularly for meetings across the UK.
Interviews are expected to be held 20 and 21 November in Bristol, but this may be subject to change.
