We’re looking for a Field Technician to undertake the calibration and maintenance of a wide range of water quality monitoring equipment. In addition you will manage and operate a quality assurance system and supervise staff as appropriate.
The high resolution evidence produced is vital if we are to better understand our water environment.
The National Laboratory Service Instrumentation team provides support to all high resolution water quality monitoring activities undertaken across the Agency. It delivers a vital service that underpins many of the Environment Agency’s statutory responsibilities. It also makes a significant contribution to partnership projects such as Demonstration Test Catchments and Catchments Sensitive Farming. The team also supports the wide range of high profile stakeholder partnerships managed by the National Water Quality Instrumentation Service
We’re seeking a technician with practical experience. You will be have an engineering/ science background, formally qualified or with substantial and relevant vocational experience. In addition you should possess ability and/or knowledge of:

Water quality Instrumentation

Environmental science

Management of quality systems and documentation

Other key requirements for this job include excellent communication skills, proficiency in word, excel and database management along with a passion for innovation and problem solving.

Applicant should hold a full UK driving licence. A lease car will be provided with this role.
