The Flood Warning Expansion Project (FWEP) will protect an additional 26,000 properties at high risk of flooding. You will deliver an innovative network of monitoring sites to achieve these targets to enhance the lives of others. You will be an integral member of the project team and will be working with a professional, knowledgeable group of teams and individuals within the Environment Agency and with external contractors to ensure accurate site selection & installation of a high quality, fit for purpose monitoring network and associated flood warning service.

You will become an integral member of the project team working closely with a number of different teams across the business and also external contractors to successfully embed new sites into the monitoring network.
We are recruiting 2 posts in West Midlands & Devon, Cornwall & Isles of Scilly to implement this project. You will report to the local Hydrometry & Telemetry Team Leader and will provide support to your fellow implementation colleagues across your local hub. You will also form strong links with other members of the Flood Warning Expansion Project particularly within National Monitoring who will provide support and co-ordination for the monitoring elements of the project.
• Project management – Ability to develop a project plan, track spend, deliver outcomes and report to the FWEP team
• Asset management – Liaise with Estates & Legal teams, clear understanding of legislation and relevant documentation including Construction Design Management (CDM) regulations
• Strong data management - Co-ordinate and target resource to deliver project outcomes
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team, develop and maintain good working relationships with others
• Excellent communication skills are essential as you’ll be working with a diverse range of people on a highly technical project.
• Partnership and engagement - Working closely with area Hydrometry & Telemetry teams to agree suitable locations and successful installations
• Customer service - Ensuring the outcomes meet the requirements of the project and local customer end users
• Good knowledge of the flood warning service and experience of installing monitoring equipment desirable
