"The world is changing. The Environment Agency has long worked with partners and the private sector to influence that change, with great success, but there is more still to do. How we engage and who we engage with in order to secure that influence is also changing, with an every greater need to explore the commerciality of our work. The Sustainable Growth Managers will be at the heart of this work.
One of our core aims is to support sustainable development. Increasingly we see opportunities to integrate the environment into the heart of development and growth, where the natural environment is seen as having intrinsic value and a truly economic asset and enabler for development, rather than something to be overcome.
"The role will work across our business (Water Land and Biodiversity, Flood Risk Management and Regulated Industry) and across the East Midlands. You will work closely with key Area and National teams eg Sustainable Places, PSO and Programme teams as well as external organisations including RFCC's to explore and influence new models of partnership working and financing. You will share and build on best practice from your own experiences. Base location is flexible.
"Foremost, you will be a strong communicator and be experienced at working with individuals at all levels across both the public and private sector. You will be self-motivated and confident of working alone, as well as a part of a much larger team. You will be an effective individual and have a proven track record of achieving results.
Productive relationships are key to delivery. You will be experienced and skilled in working across and with organisations and communities, public and private, large and small, at all levels.
You will have a strong understanding of the Environment Agency and its partners, their roles and remits so as to get the best impact from your engagements with others and identify potential opportunities to get the best possible outcome from the collective resources available.
"Based within the East Midlands Area, your work could touch any part of our geography. Base location is flexible. Travel across the East Midlands will be required.
Our staff are all expected to undertake an incident role, which may require out of hours work.
