We have an exciting opportunity to work in our Service Centre based in Peterborough on a 12 Month Contract.

Forming part of our National Defra Group Fleet Services function the Service Centre which provides the administration and management of both the Environment Agency and Defra fleets, with a high level of customer service to both internal and external customers and partners.

The day to day work will vary and focusing on customer service and processes such as paying invoices and managing purchase orders to updating our fleet management system or resolving data quality issues, however you will be required to work closely with other teams across our services.

Our objectives are to:
• Review and reduce our operating costs
• Ensure we run a safe, legally compliant and operationally fit for purpose fleet
• Provide excellent operational, customer valued services, that are constantly improving
• Ensure we have the most sustainable fleet

Fleet related experience would be an advantage however training and support will be provided.
Defra Group Fleet Services are a national team and provide fleet management services for Environment Agency and several other Defra bodies totalling more than 9,000 assets.

Our role is to provide high performing fleet management and customer service which ensures the fleets we manage are safe and legally compliant, ensuring the highest safety standards are met is a priority for us.
Fleet experience is beneficial but isn't necessary as all training will be provided. What is more important is a high level of customer service, ability to use Microsoft Office packages including Outlook and Excel and transferable skills from other work experience you may have had.

Through experience to date you will be able to demonstrate some of the following:
• Ability to develop and maintain good relationships with internal and external customers
• Excellent communication skills both written and oral
• Good organisational skills and an ability to use MS Office
• Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team
• Delivery of work by planning, tracking, gathering and maintaining data/information
• Awareness of data management

The key things we’re looking for are transferrable skills and capabilities, so do not be put off applying if you don’t have experience in this sector
