Do you want to make the world a better place? Are you passionate about protecting the nation against natural threats and hazards? We are looking for someone to manage our stock of mobile flood risk management assets and liaise with national colleagues and our professional partners. In this role, you will plan and manage the day to day running of the Principal Depot at Lea Marston including the secure storage, maintenance and deployment of equipment such as Pumps, Flood Barriers, Sandbag Hoppers, Incident Command Vehicles and Ultra High Volume Pumps.
You will be responsible for making sure work by others is delivered on time, to the right standard and in accordance with our safe systems of work and will maintain an up-to-date asset inventory, logging equipment and its status, and management of movements of deployed assets.

You should understand the Health Safety & Wellbeing (HS&W) risks, including but not limited to, maintaining depot standards, safe systems of work, people/ plant interface, using plant and equipment, and protecting the environment. A knowledge of PUWER and LOLER regulations would be preferred but is not essential.
The Warwickshire Field Team is based in Lea Marston near Sutton Coldfield in the West Midlands. We are one of 6 teams in the West Midlands who deliver a maintenance programme on watercourses and respond to flooding and environmental incidents 24/7. We provide advice and support to our colleagues in Asset Performance and other internal functions. We work across the country when called upon to assist other areas in category 1 incident response.
You should demonstrate the ability to deliver results where performance targets are crucial and problems must be resolved quickly. Good organizational skills and a proven ability to work under pressure during incidents is essential. You must understand site health and safety requirements and you’ll need strong people skills to engage others and be comfortable with managing external suppliers, such as equipment maintainers and logistics/transport staff visiting the site.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience of CDM working practices and/or other relevant qualifications.

Standard UK driving licence - Category B is compulsory. Category B+E would be advantageous and Forklift, Tele-truck or Tele-handler is preferred but not essential as training can be provided.
