We are looking for a highly motivated and positive individual to work as part of a team that engages with local planning authorities and developers to secure the best possible environmental outcomes. Your work will involve:

• Managing a case load of planning work including local plan, development management consultations, EIAs and pre-planning cost recovery consultation.
• Influencing customers and building relationships internally and externally on site-specific and strategic issues
You will join a hardworking team that takes pride in delivering results. We work with a range of customers in our role as a statutory planning consultee and trusted advisor to local government and the development industry. We aim to secure the best environmental outcomes, for example flood risk reduction, land remediation and restored urban rivers. We are continually developing our skills to become more evidence led, business focussed and customer orientated.
You will be qualified to at least degree standard (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.

Expected skills and experience include:

• Knowledge of the planning system
• Project management skills and an ability to work in a high workload, high pressure environment
• Effective influencing and negotiation skills, engaging with internal and external networks
• Excellent customer services skills and be a great communicator to a wide range of audiences
• A flexible, positive approach and a proven ability to achieve results

As a Planning Advisor you will manage the relationship with several of our Local Planning Authorities. Can you please describe an occasion when you have used your knowledge and understanding of a particular customer to improve the service you provided for them.

In the Planning Advisor role you will need to influence and persuade internal and external stakeholders. Please can you describe a time when you have successfully persuaded a key stakeholder round to your point of view.
