We're looking for a Technical Leader to join our Asset Performance team in East Midlands. You’ll be knowledgeable and experienced in Asset Management and Data and Information Management and will lead the department to improve how we use evidence to optimise our asset management decision making.
As Data and Evidence portfolio lead you’ll be setting the direction and improving our use of evidence to support effective asset management across the East Midlands. You’ll need an excellent understanding of Data and Information Management including flood risk modelling, survey and GIS outputs. This role will also lead area implementation of new asset management software due to arrive in 2021, working with office and field teams alike your ability to lead people through change and influence a wide range of internal teams will be invaluable.
Within the Nottingham Asset Performance Team you’ll take the lead on our strategic asset management, planning future works, improvements and investments for our highest risk assets and helping to influence and develop plans for future capital flood risk management schemes.
The Environment Agency manages over 2,000 major operating sites, from large flood gates to small outfalls. Our Asset Performance team assess; maintain; inspect; and survey the Environment Agency's flood risk assets. We are a team of engineers, project managers and data specialists with varied workloads we ensure that people and property are protected from flooding by taking the right investment decision on our assets at the right time and based upon robust data and evidence.
We're seeking a Technical Leader with extensive knowledge and experience of asset management, data management and data manipulation.

Formal qualifications in a geographical, environmental science or engineering discipline would be advantageous as would qualifications in Asset management e.g. Asset Management Certificate.

Other key requirements for this job include excellent communication skills; the ability to coach and mentor others; and the ability to deliver results through others and managing change.
You'll be expected to travel to field locations and meetings across the East Midlands and so the post requires a full UK driving license. The role is based out of our Trentside Office in Nottingham.

You'll be expected to take on an incident management role and be part of our roster which will involve some out of hours and weekend duties.
