The role of a Yorkshire Area Secretary is to provide a comprehensive and professional secretarial and administration service to a dedicated Area Leadership Team (ALT). This might also include other members of the Leadership Team(s) such as Team Leaders and Senior Officers. You may also be required to support the wider department with efficient delivery of the area's business objectives.
Your role will require you to act as an initial point of contact for your manager(s), including phone calls, emails, correspondence and enquiries. You will provide a timely and accurate administrative support service to maximise the effective use of your manager's time. For example: diary and inbox management, typing actions from meetings, administering expenses and time recording, updating HSW systems, tracking actions and managing several system accounts. You are responsible for ensuring that we maintain wellbeing within the Area Leadership Team, this is mainly achieved by working with your secretarial colleagues to support each other in busy times to meet deadlines.

Please note that this vacancy is for 2 x permanent posts and 1 x Fixed-Term contract until 31st March 2023. Your contract preference will be asked at interview stage.
Delivering a professional service

We work as a team to be the first point of contact for many of our internal and external customers. We will always provide positive responses and provide first class customer service to ensure effective relationship building and partnership working.
You will have previous experience working in similar admin roles supporting senior managers.
You will be able to work efficiently and effectively at a fast pace to constantly shifting deadlines and parameters without compromising on quality.
You will possess effective communication skills. Some experience in taking action points/minutes at senior management meetings.
You will be able to pick up new IT systems quickly and be competent in using IT services such as Microsoft office programmes (for example Outlook, Word, Excel etc.)
You will have the ability to work proactively whilst being primarily unsupervised.
The role will be office based but will initially be home-based with some flexibility to continue to work from home.
All required equipment will be provided.
Interviews are anticipated for week commending 3rd and 10th October 2022.
