We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to work on high-profile projects and programmes across the Environment & Business (E&B) directorate.
Your first project will be leading the development and delivery of a project looking at how E&B Directorate operates and how this can be improved, working closely with senior leaders across the Directorate.
A proven track record of excellence in Project Management in any field is the key element as subject matter input will be provided by relevant technical specialists.
You will:
Enable delivery of the key products and activities, manage resources to suit priorities, maintain momentum, meet stakeholders’ expectations, and deliver outcomes in line with the project plan.
Be responsible for project planning, progress tracking and reporting, financial reporting, procurement, benefits realisation and risk and issue management.
Support the Project Executive and manage the workload of the Project Support Officer to manage resource and priorities in a complex and fast changing environment.
As Senior Project Manager you will also work with the PSO Team Leader and G5 Project Managers in the PSO team, acting as Project Delivery technical experts, supporting the development of PSO’s in the team, role modelling Project Delivery behaviours and competencies.
The E&B Directorate steers the direction, sets the priorities and shapes our organisation's approach to delivering environmental outcomes and better regulation.
The Project Support Office team sits under the Climate Change and Business Services team, within E&B.
We provide flexible and agile support to identified priority E&B projects and programmes. The nationally dispersed team share a common goal to champion and improve project delivery, responding to changing priorities while sharing and learning from each other.
You will be able to demonstrate the following:

Essential:
A minimum of 2 years’ experience leading projects as a professional project manager.

A proven track record of delivering outcomes in challenging circumstances.

The ability to inspire confidence, lead people and communicate well with a diverse group of partners and stakeholders.

A confident project manager who can work effectively, independently and as part of a team.


Desirable:
Practitioner level programme / project management qualifications.

Experience in using industry standard project management digital tools, although this can be built into your training plan.
Office location is flexible as you will be part of a dispersed team. This will require the use of virtual collaborative tools along with occasional travel to other locations.
