In addition to the basic salary shown, the following additional allowances will be paid (per annum pro rata):
£3,776 - London Weighting
£3,000 - after qualifying period, site allowance
£3,300 - after a qualifying period, standby allowance
£3,000 - awarded to Incorporated Engineers with IET/IMechE

The Iconic Thames Barrier & Associated Gates (TBAG) play a pivotal role in protecting over £321 billion worth of property and 1.42M people from tidal flooding in London

In this role your key responsibilities will be:
• Organise the day-to-day priorities of the team.
• Draft Risk Assessments, Method Statements.
• Lead on one-to-one and group training/coaching of the team for both in house, external training courses.
• Use correct procurement processes to secure, procure, deliver resources for the team.

Other responsibilities:
Manage feedback to the fault reporting system; prioritise fault rectification actions against planned work; installation, modification to existing systems; identifying failing assets and approving remedial action plans; develop and champion the team culture.

The role is day-work. There may be a requirement to work at height, over water or in confined spaces.

All training, tools and Personal Protective Equipment will be provided.

There will also be the opportunity for a personal development path.
The MEICA (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation) Electrical Team are based at the iconic Thames Barrier in south-east London. They work on a wide variety of electrical and electronic equipment at several large flood defence structures, and at other associated sites along the tidal Thames.

The team also work closely with the Mechanical and Project teams to ensure total reliability of our assets at all times.
• BS7671:18th Edition certification is essential
• NVQ 3 in an electrical engineering subject or equivalent experience
• Knowledge of either: PLC systems, inspection and testing, HV or LV distribution, SCADA, instrumentation or BMS
• Able to write Method Statements and Risk Assessments
• Able to read technical drawings
• Experience using computerised maintenance management systems
• IOSH accredited
• Inspection and Testing certified
• Management experience
• Experience of procurement processes
• Full Driving License
