We are a Category 1 emergency responder providing a professional public service 24/7, 365. Our people and incident roles are at the heart of this service. The likelihood for concurrent incidents and bigger, more frequent environmental incidents with wide ranging consequences is growing. Ensuring that we are fully prepared to respond to incidents and give our customers and partners the best information and advice when it matters, is the role of the National Incident Management and Resilience (IM&R department.
We are looking for a motivated individual who is organised, proactive and can work independently to lead the project.
As Incident Planning Project Lead, you will work with internal and external stakeholders to explore options which could make it easier for our incident teams to access, share and manipulate information in our incident plans and make critical decisions quickly; helping to keep people and the environment safe.
We are part of 'Preparedness & Recovery' within Incident Management & Resilience who help people and society plan and prepare for incidents and to recover quickly when they occur. As a team, we ensure that the organisation has planned well, is prepared and we have productive working relationship with partners.

The team is a geographically dispersed team, but we work together through shared activities and regular contact.
You will bring a broad range of skills and experience. We are looking for people with:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organisational skills
• Proven ability to engage with multiple stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes
• Proven ability to assimilate substantial amounts of information, formulate options and present these effectively
• Good understanding of emergency planning and Environment Agency responsibilities and capabilities across incident management.
• A kind and inclusive approach
• This assignment is fixed for two years
