We are looking for a forward-thinking MEICA (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control, Automation) engineer to work within our multi-disciplined area team. Our MEICA engineers work with a large variety of flood risk management assets including pumping stations and water control structures. We maintain these assets on behalf of their asset owners and must ensure our flood defences perform as required, on demand.
We are a Supra Area team covering Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Cheshire, Cumbria and Lancashire. This role requires collaborative working with internal stakeholders and external contractors to deliver technical projects, provide specialist advice, and participate in response to flood incidents. Occasionally, we also provide support to other areas across the country.
We are seeking an engineer with a mechanical or electrical background with skills in maintenance and/or asset management. Ideally, the candidate will be a Member of the appropriate professional body at CEng level or working towards chartered status, however we welcome applications from candidates with a HNC or equivalent qualifications and relevant experience. We expect that the successful candidate will work towards professional registration/ membership.

You should be able to demonstrate the following knowledge and skills:

• MEICA Engineering
• Health & Safety
• Asset Management – specifically lifecycle costs, reliability and resilience.
• Project Management
• Contractor Management
• The production of technical specifications
• Technical writing
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Awareness of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems
