This is an exciting role for a PA or Executive Support Officer, providing vital support to our senior leaders so they can work as effectively as possible. It’s a great role for anyone wanting to work with the leaders of the Environment Agency, learn more about our business, what we do, who we work with and the vital role we play in protecting people and the environment.

You'll be an integral part of the team that ensures the Chief Executive has all he needs from day to day. You’ll secure meetings and visits in the diary, and work with colleagues across the business to prepare the associated agendas, briefings and papers. You’ll collaborate with others to ensure concise, relevant and timely information is provided and that practical preparations are taken care of.

You’ll be interested in communications, and help to get the Chief Executive’s voice heard through social media and other channels.

You’ll work flexibly to ensure the team’s responsibilities are completed, working together with other teams to deliver shared outcomes.

You'll also work with colleagues to ensure the Coordination Support Cell is incident-ready and able to provide a high quality, reliable and responsive service during a major incident.
We’re part of Governance and Engagement in the Chief Executive’s Directorate. We provide support for the Chief Executive in London, including a quality and responsive service on:

• Running the Chief Executive’s Office, including diary management, bookings and logistics
• Agendas, briefings, visits and commissioning speeches
• Technical support for the executive team, including VC and other equipment
• Working with Internal Communications team, including use of social media
• Support for incident management
You'll be comfortable working with senior members of staff and handling sensitive information.

You’ll be able to manage your time and a busy workload in order to deliver to a high standard in a fast paced environment.

You'll have excellent written communication skills and an interest in supporting the Chief Executive communicate with different audiences, including social media channels.

You'll be adept at working under pressure and with time constraints or moving deadlines. You’ll know when to use your initiative and when to refer to colleagues for guidance and support.

You’ll have experience or an interest in supporting our incident response.

Strong Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel Skills are essential.

We support flexible working, but the ability to cover peak days and busy hours would be an advantage – these include full days on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays.
