This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity to work in the Hertfordshire & North London Operations Leadership Team. This specialist role involve providing engineering expertise and quality technical leadership across Hertfordshire & North London Flood & Coastal Risk Management teams and support them in their delivery of the flood risk management revenue and capital asset maintenance programmes. The role will also provide technical leadership to support operational decision making during incident response as part of our role as a Category One responder.
Hertfordshire and North London Operations consists of teams involved in design, build, maintenance and operation of flood risk management assets. The work includes grounds maintenance, civils, mechanical/ electrical work including a requirement to be on an out of hours standby roster for incident response. The operational area encompasses the 4 North London airports (Heathrow, Luton, Stanstead & London City) covering the Rivers Colne, Lee, Brent and Roding among others and covers varied rural/urban landscapes/communities.
You’ll be a Chartered Civil Engineer with sound understanding of Health, Safety and CDM regulations, & preferably delivered complex programmes of work in a water environment. You should also have experience in providing expert input and assurance in connection with assets and asset systems.
You will be able to show us you can;

A relevant degree or equivalent in civil engineering and Chartered Engineer status with a recognised body is essential.

Full Driving Licence, as Catchment Engineers are required to regularly travel to field based locations
Chartered Engineer with relevant body such as CIWEM or ICE.
