This is an exciting opportunity to join the Environment Agency’s National Operations Regulatory Service as the Personal Assistant to the Deputy Director who leads the team. You will also work closely with her leadership team to ensure the smooth running of the team.
Your role will involve duties such as diary management, organising meetings, organising travel, action log management, preparing documents and handling enquiries and requests. We are a busy, dispersed team delivering a wide range of regulatory regimes, so you will need to be able to adapt to changing demands when prioritising your work.
You will liaise with a wide range of people internally and externally both verbally and in writing to support the Deputy Director.
You will be encouraged to be innovative and proactive in your approach, in particular looking for opportunities to do things more efficiently where we can.
We use market based regulation and environmental data to help organisations reduce their emissions to land, air and water. Operations Regulatory Services deliver a broad portfolio of regulatory services including

• Climate Change Trading & Energy Efficiency regimes
• International & Radioactive Waste Shipments,
• Chemicals Compliance
• Producer Responsibility, Hazardous Waste and other waste regimes
• Regulatory and operational data services

We are an enthusiastic and innovative team and are passionate about our people.
You will be a highly organised individual with strong attention to detail. You will be comfortable with prioritising your own workload and able to make effective use of your time. You will not be sat with the Deputy Director every day so you will need to be a self-starter and have the confidence to take ownership of your own workload.
You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to interact in a confident and helpful manner. An ability to build relationships and liaise effectively with others is also a key requirement of this role.
You will be highly proficient with Microsoft software and confident with systems used for expenses, time recording and health & safety.
Closing Date: 21st February 2019 at 23:55 hours

You will be based at either our office in Warrington or Preston. Occasional train travel for meetings will be required. We support flexible working arrangements wherever possible and would encourage applications from people who have the need to work flexibly.

Interested candidates should contact Lesley Worswick on 07771 940711 or lesley.worswick@environment-agency.gov.uk for an informal discussion.

Assessments will be held on either the 15th or 21st March 2019.
