You will provide a value added service to field based operations to ensure that our fleet assets are legally compliant and safe in order to meet operational needs and minimise the environmental impact of the fleet.

You will build and sustain effective relationships internally and with external suppliers in order to ensure continuing effective operation of the Environment Agency’s fleet.

You will provide assistance on fleet management activities relevant to area of expertise to resolve operational concerns and drive continuous improvement.

You will assist with projects and work streams to improve efficiency and reliability of fleet operations, enhance environmental performance, and deliver best value from our fleet resources.
You will provide assistance to the Fleet Technical Team Leader and the Fleet Operations Manager
Defra Group Fleet Services provides a collaborative fleet service to organisations within the Defra group, covering the acquisition, maintenance and disposal of our large complex fleet. Assets include vehicles, agricultural and construction equipment, boats and a range of ancillary equipment. The role will contribute to a team that
• Delivers an exemplary customer service
• Ensures the Environment Agency complies with terms of our Operator Licences.
• Leads on delivery of the Asset Replacement Programme.
A Sound understanding of the business and activities of a Fleet Operations function or have previous experience of working within a mixed fleet environment (vehicles, plant, boats) and have technical expertise in the operation and supervision of fleet activities. You will have significant knowledge of health and safety legislation in relation to fleet activities.

You will have experience of dealing with and influencing customers and internal stakeholders, meeting their needs and expectations and solving problems that may arise. You will demonstrate experience of working within a team, managing conflicting demands on time due to working to tight timescales, and have a track record of setting high standards and delivering results, together with the ability to work on small to medium projects.
Driving Licence essential
Regular travel will be required with occasional overnight stays

Driving Licence essential
