Are you looking for a job that will offer exciting opportunities to develop as an engineer? We are offering you this chance; we are currently recruiting for an aspiring or recently qualified engineer. The position will require that you have knowledge of CDM, health and safety legislation and project management, including budgets.

After initial training you will work alongside the team’s chartered engineer as a catchment manager in managing our dedicated field team and external contractors in maintaining, testing, operating and decommissioning our assets both safely and efficiently.
The Bristol Avon Asset Performance Team manages critical weirs, embankments, sluice gates and rivers that protect Bristol, Bath and the surrounding communities from flooding. We have a diverse team with various skills consisting of a Team Leader, Advisors, Engineers, Catchment Managers, Enforcement Officers and Admin Staff.
We are seeking an individual who is comfortable working alongside colleagues from various internal and external teams including external contractors.

You will need either an engineering qualification or be in the process of gaining one. You will also:-

• Be comfortable with working with various internal and external teams,
• Understand the priorities around Health and Safety in the workplace,
• Be confident in planning your own workloads with the understanding of the requirements for flexibility around incident planning and
• Be confident in developing your individual training and development plans.
