Over the next few years we have arguably the greatest opportunity to protect and improve the water environment for decades and an Environment and Business officer in the national water resources team you will be a critical in making this happen.

You will support our water resource strategy to deliver the Water Land and Biodiversity 25 year ambition. This includes a fundamental reform of the way we regulate water abstraction, charge for these regulatory services and introduce a longer term outlook on water management to increase resilience in the face of increasing pressures and environmental change.

We are seeking an Officer to join the Water Resource Billing and Data team at the Environment Agency to help us achieve our water resource management outcomes. The role is focused on helping to manage our data and systems. Typical responsibilities will include:
• Quality assurance of datasets
• Data entry and verification
• Analysis of datasets
• Compiling and processing regulatory charges data to enable customer invoice production
• Responding to internal and external customer queries
• Contributing to the digital transformation agenda
You will join the Water Resource Billing & Data team, part of the Environment & Business Water Resource group. The Water Resources group takes the lead for the Environment Agency in managing the water resources of England and in supporting implementation of the government’s water abstraction plan.
You will be a conscientious individual with good organisational skills. You will need to be able focus on delivering good quality business outcomes and be able to embrace new ideas and suggest alternative approaches. Having an eye for detail is essential and you will be comfortable with collating, managing and analysing data and information. You will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
