We are looking for an enthusiastic Team Leader who will lead and inspire our Biodiversity and Geomorphology (BG) team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a front line team, with a diverse and challenging workload, making a real difference in Hertfordshire and North London. You will be a dynamic and positive individual who thrives on achieving successful environmental outcomes by working in partnership and providing first class customer service.

This is a great opportunity to refine your leadership and influencing skills whilst making sure that you and your team achieve the best possible outcomes. You will be leading an established and experienced team with a range of technical expertise.

As a Team Leader you will be part of our Water, Land and Biodiversity Leadership Group, contributing to the wider leadership of the department and our area.
The BG team covers a diverse patch covering rural Hertfordshire and the north bank of the Thames. This is a challenging urban environment with potential to make significant changes. They fulfil a key role providing technical advice and support to ensure our own activities meet the highest environmental standards and we make tangible environmental improvements on the ground. We work very closely with numerous organisations including statutory bodies, NGOs, anglers, local partnerships and landowners.
You should be passionate about the environment and people, and leadership should be part of your career plan.

You should have:
- A strong commitment to people, both your team and customers, and good communication and influencing skills.
- An active interest in the team’s work to understand the demands, and help prioritise and manage workloads.
- An ability to remain positive and focused on the key priorities, even when conflicting demands conspire to knock you and your team off course.
- The ability to deliver results on time and budget.
- Experience providing leadership to deliver outcomes through others. We’re seeking an individual who can display excellent potential and skill in leading teams.

A full UK driving licence is essential.

You must be willing to undertake specialist or further training where required.
