Field Operations maintains watercourses and flood defences that contributes to whole asset management life cycle. The work we deliver protects people and property from flooding and plays a vital role in protecting wildlife and the environment.
As a Team Member 2 you will primarily work outdoors using tools and machinery that you will have received training for. You will use an iPad on a daily basis to record work activity and information.
As a category one first responder you will have an incident response role which means you will be required to respond to flooding and environmental incidents 24/7 while on duty.
The team is based in Smethwick, West Midlands and we work across the Birmingham & Black Country areas serving a very diverse community, the role is physical and can be demanding and will involve asset maintenance, conveyance work, minor construction projects and emergency works for incident response.
A full driving licence is required. You will be working outside in all weathers so you will need a positive attitude, be fit and enthusiastic with a keen understanding of wildlife and the environment, using various power tools and machinery will be required so some experience will be useful, full training will be provided which you will be required to undertake.
The Environment Agency has an emergency response role to attend to flooding and pollution incidents and you will be committed to take part in a 24/7 standby rota.
Everyone starting a new role with the Environment Agency will be welcomed into the team and given all the training and support to succeed.

Full driving licence required, B+E Towing would be an advantage.
