Do you have a passion for data and visualisation? Are you motivated by helping others gain a better insight into the stories data can unfold?
If so you could help us to improve the environment in the East Midlands by helping us to make better use of our data and information.

We’re looking for someone with the right mix of enthusiasm and technical skills to create maps, and other evidence products, that will help us to work together and target our efforts where they will make the biggest difference.

You’ll be happy to explore the use of new data analysis and visualisation technologies and use data and information from a variety of sources, to contribute to a better understanding of environment. Using creativity and innovation, you will translate that information into compelling evidence that informs decisions and actions by technical and non-technical audiences alike.

You will work closely with teams and individuals to conceptualise and create products that will help them prioritise the issues, and solutions that matter. These products will improve our ability to influence colleagues and partners and inspire evidence based action to protect and improve our environment for people and wildlife.
The Integrated Environment Planning (IEP) team is predominantly a water planning team with specialists in water quality, water resources and river basin planning.
Working with area operational teams and national colleagues, we collate, analyse and share data, and produce the environmental plans that inform and drive East Midland’s area priorities.
Our friendly team of advisors are at the heart of environmental decision making, facilitating integrated actions to solve complex problems.
• You'll need to be confident in communicating, influencing and networking and have a strong customer focus with experience of listening to and collaborating with customers to deliver what they need.
• You will have a strong background in data and information management so you can provide technical leadership and deliver products that will inform our actions and that of our partners.
• You will have experience of using data and evidence to explore problems and propose effective and innovative solutions.
• You will be capable of using your own initiative, as well as being able to bring people together and inspire collaboration and information sharing.
• You will be self-motivated and able to prioritise and deliver a busy workload to defined deadlines;
• You will be able to support others in the use and development of data visualisation tools to improve our capability in this area.
If you would like to know more about the role please contact Vanessa Shoebridge telephone 02030 253433 or vanessa.shoebridge@environment-agency.gov.uk
