If you are looking for a job with a difference, read on ... this is an interesting and varied role providing administrative support to the Waterways (Navigation) Operations Team covering Lincolnshire & Northamptonshire. This is a part time position (25 hours a week) based in Kettering but will involve some travel to our other offices and marina in Northampton, occasional site (locks and moorings) visits, as well as boat patrols with our River Inspectors. You will participate in a weekend duty roster, which can be undertaken from home, approximately once every four weeks.
The position is based in the Lincolnshire & Northamptonshire Waterways Operations Team, who are responsible for the day to day running of our navigable rivers, ensuring that the locks, moorings and other facilities that we provide are in good working order and safe for the public to use. The team is customer focussed and also carries out essential enforcement duties and public safety inspections. You will also interact with the wider Waterways Teams.
We are looking for a highly organised and motivated individual who is able to work both independently and as part of a team. You will be required organise and plan your own work on a daily basis, have good communication, literacy, numerical and data collation skills, be able to use standard IT packages, and deal with customers tactfully and effectively. From time to time you will be required to handle confidential or sensitive information.
Experience of Health & Safety and Inland Waterway Boating may be an advantage but are not essential.
You will need to have a full driving license.

Full driving licence required
