This is an incredibly exciting time to join the Businesslike team within Operations Business Services (OBS) to help us deliver projects to benefit the whole of the EA. As a team our focus is on ensuring our data, information and processes support officers, leaders and managers make the right decisions at the right time.

We are looking for a Programme Officer to work closely with a prioritised set of customer groups in the EA on ambitions within the overall Businesslike plan.

It is important you are passionate about unlocking potential in our data and helping us problem solve in the Environment Agency.

This role will regularly work on complex and technical matters to drive forward new solutions for how we harness our business intelligence. You will be expected to work with a Programme Manager and Advisor, within the team, on various projects and priorities throughout the duration of the contract.

Important qualities are your kindness, hard work, a willingness to think differently and work on better ways of working and an appetite to learn quickly. Ideally someone who is confident, collaborative, capable and caring about customers and innovation would be desirable.

We’re looking for transferrable skills/capabilities as a data analyst/technical role of successful projects previously. You will be responsive and comfortable with adapting to changing priorities. You will have a passion for the power of data and what business intelligence can unlock for the EA.

To be responsive to our customer needs and for programme success, ideally you will have the following:

• excellent organisational skills
• experience of innovating, improving ways of working and changing practices
• a tenacity to problem solve
• experience communicating on complex issues effectively
• an ability to prioritise project delivery tasks well
• professionalism around working with customers
• an ability to gather/evaluate/manipulate large amounts of data
• good wider business awareness

You will be willing to undertake specialist/or further training when necessary.

Driving licence - desirable (not essential)
