In this crucial position, you will be ensuring that income is safeguarded. You will do this by supporting strategic portfolio work to enable accurate and transparent charging, through digital delivery and improved design of services.

You will play a key role in underpinning strategic programmes with technical knowledge and expertise, working on the development and implementation of business systems and the delivery of new digital services. With the team’s focus on the development of a Charging Module, you will support the Service Owner in the continuation of this work. You will also support a cross-cutting service, providing a centre of excellence for payment services. This growing role is essential for us to explore new payment innovation.

Using Continuous Improvement methods, you will deliver user needs from internal customers including Operations and E&B. Improving operational efficiency and maximising income via our regulatory systems and procedures, is fundamental to this role. You will work with Defra Corporate Services, DDTS and/or external providers of services, to deliver our commitment to customers and protect our income base.
Regulatory Finance Systems (Delivery) is made up of technical experts and analysts, leading and delivering finance requirements and needs in digital services and business systems. It sits alongside a team providing billing activity and forms part of Sustainable Business & Development, within the Environment and Business Directorate.
Ideally you will be qualified/working towards a qualification in business analysis or a related discipline and demonstrate the following:
-strong analytical skills

-strong stakeholder management skills, with ability to communicate (in writing and verbally) and build relationships effectively with a broad range of people
-a continuous improvement approach to all work.

-an attention to detail and ability to clearly present data and information

-an ability to deliver high quality work, knowing when to refer to colleagues for guidance and support
It would be an advantage if you have:
-experience of working in an Agile environment
-use of structured analysis techniques
- a working knowledge of EA/Government charging and billing processes/charging schemes
This assignment opportunity currently extends to 31/05/2020

The grade rate for this role is £34,879 (pro-rata if part time or an assignment), however a market supplement may be applicable for the right level of experience.

Location is flexible. Members of the team are located around the country. You will be comfortable working in a dispersed team.

The nature of the role will necessitate some national travel, including occasional overnight stays.
