This is an opportunity to join a flagship multi-agency science programme with a high profile with policy makers in Defra and HMT. We are looking for technical experts who relish the thrill of being in from the start to join the programme, which will change how we make environmental decisions in England.
These roles require an organised mind, an eye for detail; an ability to manage delivery to time, cost and quality; an ability to work well with technical staff.
The host team, Water Resources Assessment, provide technical services and advice across the business to support water resources decision making. We work with teams in operations and in Water Land Biodiversity including to commission data and evidence from monitoring networks.
• Technical leadership on diagnosing and addressing customers' current and future data needs based on assessed risks
• Ideally experience working with hydrometric data and services, hydrology or hydro-geology
• Understanding of current and future hydrometric network contribution to adapting and mitigating climate change
• Experience of work with external stakeholders including data providers, research bodies
• Experience of addressing data quality issues
• Previous analysis of monitoring data and information, reporting of data and information would be advantageous
• Understanding of past, current and potential future data acquisition methods, network design desirable
• Project management experience would be beneficial
• Relevant degree or equivalent experience
