The Business Planning and Performance (BPP) Business Partner is a critical management resource to the leadership and staff of the Area. You will engage with managers and team leaders within the areas and a range of customers, partners and stakeholders within the business. You will support the making of robust decision making that is based on sound interpretation of evidence, risk analysis, objectivity, best practice and commercial awareness. You will bring professional skills to the management table, operate in the capacity of a trusted critical friend and share expertise across the business and BPP community
You will be joining a string network of national team of business partners clustered across three geographical hubs. We actively share knowledge and best practice needed to deliver environmental outcomes. We consistently aim to support each other, to ensure that we provide a consistent service, avoid duplication, and continually improve the quality of our advice and products.
The post holder must have a good understanding of organisational structures, systems and the business of the Environment Agency.

It is essential that they possess the capability and confidence to use business tools and techniques to provide and interpret reports, analysis and benchmarking to managers.

A demonstrable experience in effectively using influencing and negotiation skills to a high level is required alongside proven high level skills in written and verbal communication.

The post holder must be able to work quickly and accurately to ensure tasks and actions are completed at pace and often within tight deadlines.

• Lead and provide expert advice and input to the development and implementation of our business planning and performance work.
• Work with others to improve awareness / understanding of business planning and performance service, and embed any associated ways of working.
• Analyse data to describe performance and identify key and emerging risks, at the same time providing guidance and advice to the business on how to best resolve them.
Focuses on Customers and Partners
• Build and maintain good working relationships with key customers to understand their needs, deliver an excellent customer service, and manage expectations.
• Co-ordinate customer requirements into and out of appropriate teams to ensure BPP services fulfil customer needs
• Work with others to generate and interpret planning and performance reports and other products that inform and support business decisions by our customers.
Works in Teams
• Build and maintain good working relationships across the team.
• Work with others to deliver results.
• Deputise for Team Leader and provide cover for other roles across the wider team as needed
