You will support a range of work which may include dealing with enquiries from members of the public, helping us to repair and maintain our flood defences by collecting information on behalf of project managers, arranging site visits, helping survey at sites amongst many other tasks. A great deal of the work will be helping us to improving our asset data, making sure that it’s complete and accurate, often within short time-scales. In short, we need to see that you are able to prioritise your workload, know your strengths & weaknesses, can get through the peaks of work that arrive and work flexibly to suit – tell us all about how you do this.
Data and Information Management
Our asset data is the cornerstone on which we make decisions about the future of our flood defences and other structures, buildings and land that we maintain or own. Important decisions are made based on the evidence that our data provides that can affect the lives of communities by helping to prevent flooding, improve or protect the local environment. Large sums of public money are spent based on the evidence our data provides. For these reasons we need you to show us that you are able to work with information and data, can demonstrate its importance from work you have done or any insights you have gained about its gathering, storage, use, quality and any other understanding that you have.
