We are looking for a forward thinking mechanical engineer to work within our multi-disciplined area team. The role will require you to work on a variety of flood and coastal risk management assets including, pumping stations, water control structures and office/depot buildings. Your role within the team will consist of assisting the Area MEICA Engineers in particular areas of work, or specific projects, providing technical advice to other teams and participating in our response to incidents. There may also be a requirement to provide support to other areas across the country and head office colleagues.
MEICA (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation) is a Supra Area team covering Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Cheshire. We maintain mechanical and electrical assets on behalf of the assets owners, working closely with our internal partners and our external contractors. We take an active role in incidents, ensuring the assets perform when it really matters.
We are seeking an experienced industrial engineer preferably from the water or utilities sector. The ideal candidate will be a Member of the appropriate professional body at CEng level or working towards chartered status. Consideration will be given to HNC or equivalent qualifications with suitable experience in the desired sectors. We expect that the successful candidate will work towards professional registration/ membership.
You should also be able to demonstrate knowledge in:
• Industrial Engineering
• Core Discipline Engineering Knowledge
• Health & Safety Legislation
• Project Management.
• Contractor Management.
• The production of Technical Specifications and Report Writing Skills
The role attracts market forces payments for Incorporated or Chartered Engineers up to £6000 per annum.
The role comes with a lease car.
