We are looking an exceptional individual to help us meet the challenge of putting effective research and insights at the heart of what we deliver for the environment.
This is an exciting position with the opportunity to make a real difference to a range of important environmental issues, as well as our employee engagement programme.
You will contribute at every stage of the research process from advising colleagues, designing research and managing suppliers to analysing, preparing and presenting results to senior leadership teams.
Key tasks during the assignment include:
- Providing colleagues with professional market research advice and guidance.
- Interpreting customer needs to identify their business objectives and the research solutions to them.
- Designing and delivering effective market research, working with suppliers or using our in-house survey tool.
- Analysing, preparing and presenting results to clients, delivering clear recommendations and encouraging the business to act on the results.
The Market Research team is part of Government & Engagement in the Chief Executive’s Directorate. We work across all aspects of the organisation and carry out market research with our customers, the communities we work with, our stakeholders and our staff.
Ideally you will have a relevant degree or equivalent qualification, or experience for the role including using a range of market research tools and techniques.

You'll be a quick-learner with a strong customer-focus and a desire to make a difference.

Project management will come naturally to you and you will be able to prioritise and manage a varied workload independently to deliver a challenging programme of work.

You’ll have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be confident in actively engaging with and influencing senior colleagues across the business (often remotely).

You'll be highly organised with an excellent attention to detail and a head for numbers, ensuring our work is delivered at pace and to a high standard.
Although you can chose your base location from any of our main offices (subject to Facilities approval) the role will require some travel and occasional overnight stays. The Market Research team is dispersed across England and our regular face-to-face team meetings are held in our Reading office.
We will consider applications for job share.

Interviews will be held in late April / early May (exact date to be confirmed)
