We are looking for an experienced individual to deliver technical project management of the acquisition, processing and interpretation of spatial data.

This post is part of the customer and project delivery team within Geomatics. You will:

• Manage multiple key projects internally and externally to the Agency
• Provide a link to the management team on project activity
• Undertake regular meetings with key customers and develop good relationships.
• Use your technical knowledge and project management skills to maintain and improve systems within the team
• Complete survey planning tasks for our data capture work programme using ARCGIS.

You'll need to be able to work flexibly, adapt to changing priorities and develop good relationships with both internal and external customers.
Geomatics is part of Operations National Monitoring which delivers all national once monitoring activities for chemistry, biology, survey and telemetry. Our remit is to deliver geomatics services to the Environment Agency and the wider environmental community. Combining cutting edge technology with expert personnel, we are focused on delivering the highest quality remote sensing data and providing a fully integrated approach to produce accurate and high quality GIS ready products.
We are looking for someone ideally qualified in a scientific or geographic discipline, has proven project management capabilities and can demonstrate:

• Knowledge of the role and business of the Environment Agency
• Use of ArcGIS
• Excellent communication & influencing skills
• Excellent excel skills
• Experience of data & information management

Your technical expertise should be combined with enthusiasm, flexibility and a professional attitude.

You should be able to organise your work and time with minimal supervision and be able to use your initiative. You should be an adaptable team player, with a strong sense of customer focus and an ability to communicate technical information effectively with people at all levels.

You’ll be skilled at organising work including planning, assigning, tracking, delivering and evaluating work.

You will be able to prioritise and organise tasks and resources to ensure timely achievement of results. You will demonstrate a working knowledge of ARCGIS for the survey planning programme management element of this role.
