This is a fantastic opportunity to join the Environment Agency’s West Midlands Area as the Secretary to the Area Leadership Team. Your role will provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support; such as diary management, organising travel arrangements, preparing documents, managing email inboxes, handling telephone calls and enquiries, and dealing with requests.
We are looking for a highly organised and motivated self-starter, with a desire to help improve and protect the environment.
The Customers and Engagement team supports engagement with customers across our business, and provides secretarial support to an Area Leadership Team of 15 managers. We provide advice and support on engagement and customer service, including responding to letters from key stakeholders e.g. MPs and local authorities. We respond to requests for information and ensure commendations and complaints are dealt with effectively. We work in partnership with others to protect and enhance the environment.
Previous experience as a secretary or administrator is desirable. You'll be helpful, calm and confident in engaging with senior members of staff.
You must be a highly organised and talented assistant with:
• excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• excellent IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word;
• an ability to independently carry out numerous assigned tasks;
• an ability to prioritise workload and adapt to changeable deadlines,;
• an ability to manage a diary and perform administrative tasks, and
• a positive attitude and a flexible approach to working in a team.

As a Secretary to the Area Leadership Team you will be required to work at pace. Please describe your experience of working at pace and how you deliver under pressure.

Therefore, you will not be eligible for continuous service.
