Flood and Coastal Risk Management (FCRM) are investing £2.6 billion between 2015 and 2021 to reduce flood risk to 300,000 homes across the UK. Kent and South London (KSL) Area has a significant capital investment programme contributing to around 10% of the overall National programme in terms of spend, 20% of the forecast properties at reduced risk and one of the largest revenue programmes.

This post will provide essential support to ensure we are able to meet our performance measure commitments, provide the required financial governance and maintenance responsibilities. You'll be part of the Area Programme Team which supports and monitors project data and reporting systems to get intelligence that drives the Capital portfolio delivery. The team rely on good data and you will seek to improve all elements of data maturity, with a particular focus on data quality improvements and working closely with project managers to achieve this.

The role revolves around

• Collecting and analysing data on the Capital and Revenue programmes
• Developing data quality performance monitoring
• Embedding data management principles across Area teams
• Generating reports to other teams/senior management to enable decision making
• Controlling data flow from the team to ensure consistent figures
The Kent and South London FCRM Programme Team provides technical support and analysis to teams developing projects to deliver the six year capital programme of investment, working with finance, as well as helping monitor the FCRM maintenance programme. Our work is fast paced, presenting accurate and consistent figures to a range of customers including Executive Management, Area Leadership Team and external audiences.
The candidate will ideally be able to demonstrate some of the following:

Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a dispersed team to make decisions and achieve results
Delivery of work by planning, tracking, gathering and maintaining data/information
Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel
Comfortable learning and using new systems as well as processes
Communicating effectively to a wide range of customers and partners both internal and external
Generating reports to enable decision making
Have some level of understanding of project or programme management
