We are looking for three enthusiastic, proactive individuals to join Waste Industry and Regulatory Services (WIRS), part of National Services E&B. You will provide support to customers to enable them to comply with their regulatory obligations.

The roles include:

• Responding promptly to technical enquiries
• Helping deliver compliance and enforcement within regulations
• Managing and evaluating data to find the information within so you will be experienced in using Excel, Access and similar tools.
• A high level of written and oral communication skills
• Providing excellent customer service to a range of internal and external customers and colleagues.
• Working as part of the team to help improve performance.
WIRS deliver a variety of technical and compliance related activities across several regulatory regimes; helping to protect and improve the environment. The vacancies are in the following teams: Waste operator returns team, Hazardous waste, Pollution inventory.

Each team’s work is based on data submitted by our customers and includes:

• Planning and undertaking compliance work,
• Assessing customer data and providing reports for internal and external customers
• Liaison with colleagues across the organisation
• Good customer service skills
• Experience of working with customers in a regulatory or compliance capacity is desirable but not essential.
• Ability to plan and manage a varied workload
• Organised and able to work on your own initiative
• Good IT skills, experience in using Excel, Access and similar tools
• Ability to coordinate the collection, assessment and reporting of data.
• Ability to interpret, analyse and diagnose problems and then develop solutions
• Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and those we regulate.
• Work as part of a team and with a variety of people to build effective relationships
• Good interpersonal and influencing skills
• Good environmental awareness
• Knowledge of regulations relevant to some or all of waste returns, hazardous waste and pollution inventory is desirable.
The job will be working in WIRS within Operations Regulatory Service (ORS) and based with other EA National teams at Sheffield.
