As a project officer you will work closely with our Catchment Coordinators/Catchment Delivery Managers and other key internal teams to plan and manage a diverse programme of projects that deliver multiple benefits for the environment. You will ensure project management procedures and processes are maintained throughout the project lifecycle. You will help to shape the Medium Term Plan and produce summary reports to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. You will support project managers within the team and across the business. You will also have the opportunity to manage projects and develop your skills in project management and you will be responsible for the Water Environment Grant compliance checks. These are new post, which will develop over time to suit the needs of the team and the experience of the successful candidate.

We are recruiting to two posts
Post 1 and 2 – Assignments starting as soon as possible and will run initially until 31st March 2019.
The East Anglian Environment Programme Team is a dedicated, dynamic team working across the whole area and sits in the EPE Department. These posts will focus deliver the Water Framework Directive programme on either East or the West of the patch, but may involve work across the whole Area and to initiate working closely with FCRM to integrate our environmental projects and deliver joint outcomes that reflect local priorities
The person we are looking for will have the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure, trouble-shoot and meet short and long term deadlines.
You will need to work effectively as a team member and independently.
You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
You will need to be familiar with word processing, excel spreadsheets and have the ability to analyse and present information.
You will have an awareness of project and financial management and knowledge of project funding procedures/guidelines is advantageous.
You will have strong influencing skills to ensure we achieve the best outcomes for the Environment and the Programme.
We are looking for someone who is adaptable and flexible and although initially your work focus would be to deliver and support our Environment Programme team and the programme.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a team planning and delivering the environmental improvements required as part of our commitment to achieving Water Framework Directive objectives.
The grade 4 assignments will be based geographically in an East Anglia Area office.
You will need a driving license as regular travel to project sites is required.
The funding programmes we manage include the Water Environment Improvement Fund, Water Resources, Fisheries Improvement Fund and Water Environment Grant projects. Experience of working with other functions, such as Fisheries, Biodiversity, Water Resources and FCRM would be an advantage.
This is a full time position that may be suitable for job sharing.
