Our Flood and Coastal Risk Management (FCRM) teams help to protect against flooding and minimise flood risk. Nationally, we manage over 2,000 major operating sites, ranging from large pumping stations to small outfalls and kilometres of raised defences. We are looking for three Technical Leaders in the East Midlands as follows:
• 1 Permanent Role based in Owston Ferry
• 2 Temporary Roles (with the potential to become permanent) based either in Trentside Office, Nottingham or one of two depots: Rothley, Leicestershire or Draycott, Derbyshire.
You will have an excellent understanding of whole life asset management and proven track record in delivering complex programmes of work. You will use your strong leadership and project management skills to ensure we deliver our asset management activities on time, to budget and meet expected quality standards. You will work closely with other Technical Leaders within the East Midlands to coach and mentor team members and provide support to the Team Leaders. You will also work closely with our internal Field Teams, external contractors, risk management authorities, and partner regulators/advisors to deliver our programme of works.
We are diverse and dispersed teams responsible for the overall performance of our flood risk assets across the East Midlands. We assess, maintain, inspect, and survey our flood risk management assets. Our teams ensures that people and property are protected from flooding by taking the right investment decisions for our assets at the right time based upon robust data/evidence. Our teams are a mix of civil engineers, data/incident leads, asset inspectors and technical support.
This is an exciting opportunity for strategic thinkers who thrive on using creative solutions to deliver complex portfolios of work.
We're seeking Technical Leaders with extensive knowledge and experience of asset management; programming; and project management. Other key requirements include excellent communication skills, proficiency in data and information management to make evidence-based decisions, and the ability to deliver results through others. Formal qualifications in PRINCE2 / Managing Successful Programmes / Construction Design Management Regulations / an understanding of Public Safety Risk Assessments are advantageous.
-For our permanent role in Owston Ferry and one of our temporary posts we require individuals educated to degree level or be able to demonstrate comparable technical knowledge and work experience. It is desirable if you're working toward membership of a relevant professional body.
-For our temporary post in Derbyshire, we require an individual with a sound knowledge of WLAM principles.
You'll be expected to travel to field locations across the East Midlands and the post requires a full UK driving licence. You'll also be expected to support our incident response activities.

You'll be expected to travel to field locations and meetings across the East Midlands and so the post requires a full UK driving licence.
As stated above, the permanent role is based out of our Owston Ferry office and the temporary roles are based out of our Trentside Office in Nottingham and/or our Field Depots at Rothley, Leicestershire or Draycott, Derbyshire.
