Do you want to help reduce the flood risk to homes and businesses, increase the resilience of the country’s key infrastructure, overcome barriers to growth and investment and build strong, effective partnerships with public and private sector organisations?
Our Partnerships & Strategic Overview Teams are central to reducing the flood risk to our communities. They influence investment and development, seeking to secure a strategic approach to sustainable, community-scale planning, helping to avoid the mistakes of the past being repeated in the future.
We have tremendous ambitions. Balancing the needs of the environment, our communities and the economy can feel daunting, but the opportunities are huge. Having the right team, with the right skills, engaged and influencing this debate is critical.
We are looking for a motivated and effective individual who will lead and develop this team, build and maintain relationships with partners and colleagues throughout the organisation and who will support the team to grow and deliver our ambitions for the communities we serve.
The team are champions for our strategic aims and provide a single overview of flood risk and programmes within their area. The team also protect our assets and ensure that third party activities manage and reduce flood risk through our permitting and compliance activities.
The team is key to delivering our projects through performing the Senior User role, both on discrete schemes as well as across our area programme with the collaborative Programme Delivery Unit.
First and foremost you will be a strong leader with a clear passion to deliver, remaining positive and flexible when facing significant challenges, so as to support your team and our partners towards achieving our goals. You will have a clear commitment to your team and have experience in helping individuals to develop to achieve their best and be confident in their roles.

You will be skilled in working across organisations and communities, public and private, at all levels. As a key front-line leader within the West Midlands, you will be a confident and successful communicator, often acting as the gateway to the organisation for our customers and potential partners.

You will have a strong understanding of the Environment Agency, its roles and remits so as to get the best impact from your engagements with others and identify potential opportunities to get the best outcome from the collective resources available.
Closing Date: 28th October 2018 at 23:55 hours
