Our officers regulate industry to gain benefits to the environment, communities and people. We do this through working with companies to improve how they work and manage their processes and procedures.

You will undertake planned regulation, including auditing and inspection of a wide variety of industrial sectors including combustion, fuel storage, chemical manufacturers, waste processors, Food & Drink and others.

You will help protect local communities by reducing the impact of major regulated sites. You will work with local councillors and community organisations.

You will work with companies to ensure compliance with the law and look for opportunities to benefit local communities.

The role has incident response and you will be expected to be on standby out of hours.
The team is based across the West Midlands and some travel across the area is expected. We work flexibly and use technology to communicate effectively.

You will be working in an enthusiastic team that thrive on new technical challenges. We like to stop problems before they happen and our goal is pollution prevention.

The successful candidates will be familiar and have experience in auditing, health and safety, management systems and the processes of industry.
You will get the chance to work across all of our area and develop specialist sectors. Whilst having specific industrial sector knowledge is not essential, you will need to show that you can influence people to progress improvements by using sound technical evidence.

You will need to be able to demonstrate that you can effectively communicate and influence in a variety of circumstances.

You will need to have a technical background that may have been gained from a variety of experience. You will understand complex problems and you may have to audit processes that you may not be familiar with.
