The successful candidate will be working as part of a team processing remote survey data to support the delivery of our National Programmes and various projects. You should be comfortable using specialist remote sensing software and GIS tools to process and quality control data from state of the art survey instrumentation. For example working with Satellite multispectral imagery, Airborne LIDAR, Multibeam Bathymetry and Aerial Photography.

You'll need to be able to work flexibly, adapt to changing priorities and develop good relationships with both internal and external customers.
Geomatics is an internal business unit within Operations: Regulation, Monitoring and Customer. Its remit is to deliver geomatics services to the Environment Agency and the wider environmental community. We are focused on delivering the highest quality data and providing a fully integrated approach to the delivery of geo-information. Combining cutting edge technology with expert personnel, we work to the highest scientific and ethical standards to provide accurate and high quality GIS ready products.
For this post, you will have a good degree in a relevant scientific discipline. A high level of competence in Esri ArcGIS (or similar level of GIS) and able to demonstrate extensive recent experience working with complex mapping data and remote survey data.

You will be able to demonstrate extensive experience in remote sensing techniques, analytical and problem solving skills and good attention to detail, either through work or your academic experiences.

Your technical expertise should be combined with enthusiasm, flexibility and a professional attitude. You must be able to demonstrate the ability to work independently to meet challenging deadlines.
This role is based at our offices in Bath.

You must be able to demonstrate the ability to collect, analyse, interpret, record, manage, develop and share data, material or information appropriately for a variety of purposes.
